Ghadir from Imam Reza's Perspective (AS)

In Imam Reza's (AS) intellectual framework, 'Ghadir' is not merely a historical event, but the foundation and basis for the continuity of the divine mission. He considered Ghadir as 'Eidullah al-Akbar' and superior to other holidays, because it was the day of 'completion of religion' and 'perfection of divine blessings'. The Eighth Imam (AS) in his debates and conversations, always used the Hadith of Ghadir as the strongest document to prove the guardianship and direct succession of Amir al-Mu'minin (AS). In the Razavi tradition, this day was an opportunity for joy, forgiveness, feeding, and adornment; a day when God forgives the sins of the Shiites. From his perspective, Ghadir was a divine proclamation for the appointment of Imam Ali (AS), and celebrating it is tantamount to renewing the ongoing covenant with the line of Imamate and Wilayah.

Ghadir, Famous in the Heavens!

From Imam Reza's (A.S.) perspective, Ghadir Day is superior to the festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. He says: 'Ghadir Day is more famous among the people of heaven than among the people of earth.'

In the Razavi view, Ghadir is not just a religious holiday, but the day of the completion of religion and the perfection of divine blessings. The day when guardianship, as the guarantor of implementing the mission, was introduced to the world.

Ghadir; Strong Document of Guardianship.

Imam Reza (A.S.) during his succession period and in scientific debates with the leaders of religions and denominations, frequently referred to the Hadith of Ghadir.

In front of Ma'mun and opponents, he considered Ghadir not a moral recommendation, but a clear divine 'appointment' and the clearest evidence for the Imamate and direct succession of Amir al-Mu'minin (A.S.). From the view of the eighth Imam, denying Ghadir means ignoring the clear command of the Prophet (PBUH).

Ghadir Day, Day of Forgiveness and Adornment.

The Razavi tradition emphasizes special practical celebration of Ghadir. Imam Reza (A.S.) considered this day as the day of 'feeding', 'giving gifts to religious brothers', 'adorning' and 'joy of believers'.

He said: 'Ghadir is the day when God forgives the sins of the Shiites of Amir al-Mu'minin (A.S.).' This day is an opportunity for kindness and renewing brotherhood.

The Day When Religion Was Completed...

Why is Ghadir so important? Imam Reza (A.S.) answers: Because it is the day of 'completion of religion' and 'perfection of blessings'.

In the deep Razavi view, the guardianship of Amir al-Mu'minin (A.S.) that was declared in Ghadir was the guarantor of implementing divine commands and the continuation of the prophetic line. Ghadir is the identity card of Shiism and the unbreakable connection point of 'prophethood' to 'imamate'.

Ghadir, Beyond a Historical Event

From his perspective, celebrating Ghadir is not just celebrating, but 'renewing allegiance' with the line of Imamate and accepting responsibility before 'guardianship'. Ghadir means making a covenant to stay on the path of truth forever.
